K’taka budget: Siddu to hold series of meetings

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, set to present the state budget on February 16, has scheduled a series of meetings with various departments throughout the day on January 20.
From noon to 8 pm, he will engage in consultations with approximately 14 departments to discuss key aspects of the upcoming budget.
The Chief Minister’s meetings will cover a range of crucial departments, including Health and Family Welfare, Horticulture, Mines and Geology, Sericulture and Animal Husbandry, Planning, Higher Education, Bangalore Development, Water Resources, Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology, Forestry, Environment and Biology, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, as well as Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation.
Key agenda points include discussions on the tax collection target outlined in the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24, an assessment of the current financial situation, projections on the expected tax collection by the end of March, and strategies for allocating funds in the coming year for guarantees.
Additionally, the Chief Minister will seek insights into potential opportunities for undertaking development works to enhance the state’s overall growth and progress.
