K’taka Bypoll: BJP’s Munirathna and Rajesh Gowda leading with huge margin

Bengaluru: The ruling BJP has continued to maintain its lead over opposition Congress and JD(S) in the bypolls for two assembly constituencies in the state, poll officials said on Tuesday. Votes polled in the November 3 byelections to Sira in Tumakuru district and Rajarajeshwari Nagar (R R Nagar) in the city were taken up for counting at 8 am and the results are expected to be out in a few hours from now.
RR Nagar: 25th round result:
Munirathna (BJP): 1,25,734 votes
Kusuma (INC): 67,798 votes
Krishnamurthy (JDS): 10,251 votes
NOTA: 2494 votes
BJP’s Munirathna leading by 57,936 vote
Sira: 18th round result:
Dr. Rajesh Gowda (BJP):55,413 votes
Jayachandra (Congress): 48,229 votes
Ammajamma (JDS)— 26,118 votes
BJP’s Dr. Rajesh Gowda leads by 7,184 votes
The counting of votes for bypolls to two assembly constituencies in Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) in Bengaluru and Sira in Tumkur began on Tuesday morning.
