K’taka Covid-19 cases cross 350; one new case detected in DK dist

Bengaluru: A staggering 38 new positive cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Karnataka, taking the total number of affected in the state to 353, the Health department said on Friday.

This is the highest single day tally so far.

The state on Thursday had reported 36 new cases.

“Thirty-eight new positive cases have been reported from last evening to this noon… Till date 353 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed.This includes 13 deaths and 82 discharges,” the department said in a mid-day situation update.

Among the 38 new cases, eleven are from Nanjanagud in Mysuru, who are contacts of a single patient who has earlier tested positive.

Other districts with large number of fresh cases are – eight from Bengaluru urban, seven are from Hosapete in Ballari, three from Malavalli in Mandya.

Five out of total 38 new cases are children.
