K’taka COVID-19 update: 7178 new cases; 5006 discharges; 93 deaths on Aug 8

Bengaluru: 7,178 new COVID-19 cases have been reported from across the State in the last 24 hours, from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
5,006 people were discharged from hospitals and 93 deaths occurred due to the virus during the same period.
The cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in the State right now is 1,72,102 and COVID-19 deaths is 3,091.
79,765 active COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment in the State, 683 out of them are admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.
The number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Bengaluru Urban district was 2,665, the highest in the State.
Other districts that reported high cases of COVID-19 includes Ballari (607), Udupi (313), Belgaum (302), Raichur (295), Kalaburagi (261), Dharwad (261), Yadagiri (200), Dakshina Kannada (194), Tumkur (177), Koppala (163) cases, Bagalkot (149), Vijayapur (143), Mysuru (138), Hassan (133), Davanagere (132), Uttara Kannada (117) and Mandya (101).
