K’taka flood: 6 killed in Belagavi, CM requests people to stay calm

Belagavi: As incessant rains continue to wreak havoc in the state at least six people lost their lives in Belagavi district.
“The Western Ghats and Kodagu district are experiencing incessant rains and people are marooned. Valuable lives have been lost due to landslides which are extremely saddening. I request the citizens not to panic. The Government is with you,” tweets Chief Miniter Official.

“Relief and rescue operations are being carried on a war footing. The district administration is all set with relief plans. They have been instructed to undertake rescue operations immediately,” read another tweet.

Due to incessant rain since last two days, Karnataka has been flooding. The floods and rains have left a trail of destruction in vast areas of north, coastal and Malnad districts of the State.
Other affected districts include Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Raichur, Yadgiri, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur.
