K’taka Governor appoints VC’s for Kuvempu University and Rani Channamma University

Belagavi: Professor Sharath Ananthamurthy and Professor C.M. Thyagaraja have been appointed to the post of Vice Chancellors (VCs) at Kuvempu University and Rani Channamma University respectively.
An order to this effect was issued by Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Tuesday.
Dr Sharath is a Professor at the School of Physics, University of Hyderabad. He is the son of Jnanpith awardee Dr. U R Ananthamurthy. Dr Sharath will serve as the Vice Chancellor of Kuvempu University for the next four years.
Professor C.M. Thyagaraja who has been serving as the Dean of Commerce Department at Rani Channamma University has now been appointed to the Vice Chancellor’s post. A native of Chikkamagaluru district, Thyagaraja began his teaching career at Shivamogga’s National College. Later he was appointed as a professor at Rani Channamma University and has been a faculty of business management for 12 years there.
Thyagaraja also served as the Registrar of Bangalore North University, then as the Registrar (Evaluation) at Rani Channamma University and Shivamogga’s Kuvempu University.
