K’taka govt appoints C L Anand as commissioner of MCC

Mangaluru: KAS officer Anand C L of Hassan district has been appointed as the commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC).

Anand C L will assume charge as commissioner of MCC on Wednesday, June 28.

On June 19, the government announced the appointment of Mansoor Ali as the commissioner of the MCC. Prior to this, Ali had served as the project director of the Ballari district Urban Development Treasury office. However, shortly after the initial appointment, the government made an amendment to the order and transferred Ali to the position of commissioner of the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority.

In a related move, K Channabasappa, the former commissioner of MCC, was appointed as the personal assistant to the state home minister.

Anand C L, who hails from Mandya, has served in the Indian Army for 15 years. He had also served in Karkala APMC as the FDA officer for a period of nine months.
