Bengaluru: The government is mulling introducing a dress code and exam rules similar to those used in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the upcoming Graduate Primary School Teachers Recruitment (GPSTR-2022) exams.
The move comes in the backdrop of irregularities detected in the recent recruitment exams conducted by the state government, including the PSI recruitment exam.
National Testing Authority (NTA) has prescribed strict rules for the NEET medical entrance exam for both boys and girls. Candidates have been prohibited from wearing long sleeves. Girl students can only wear slippers and sandals with low heels. Any kind of jewellery, ornaments and accessories such as chains, earrings, rings, nose pins, pendants, anklets, bangles, bracelets, etc. are also prohibited.
State education minister B C Nagesh held talks with the education department officials on Thursday. “We are discussing whether to enforce a dress code for the aspirants of the exam,” he said.
Discussions are planned with the senior police officials about the security arrangements after May 10, sources said.
Through GPSTR-2022, the state government plans to fill the 15,000 vacant posts for teachers in Class 6 to Class 8. Around 1.06 lakh applications have been filed for the competitive exam scheduled to be held on May 21 and 22.
