K’taka GP elections: Dakshina Kannada records 33.41% voter turnout at 11am

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district recorded 33.41% voter turnout at 11am in the second phase of Gram Panchayath polls on Sunday, December 27.

Meanwhile, Gram Panchayats of Belthangady taluk recorded 33.59%, Puttur 34.23%, Sullia 31.62% and Kadaba 33.81% polling till 11 am.

31.23 per cent polling in Udupi till 11am

Gram Panchayats of Kaup recorded 30.42 %, Karkala 33.37 %, Kundapura 30.17% polling till 11am.

Voting for a total of 2,709 panchayats of 109 taluks in Karnataka is underway in the second phase of Gram Panchayat elections on Sunday, December 27.

There are 1,05,431 candidates in the fray for 39,378 seats. Polling will be held from 7 am to 5 pm in over 20,728 booths. A total of 3,697 candidates have been elected unopposed already, poll officials said.
