According to a recent observation during the Project Approval Board (PAB) meeting of the Ministry of Education points out that Karnataka has more than 28,000 “surplus” teachers
According to Deccan Herald, PAB states that Karnataka has 28,548 surplus teachers in elementary schools. It suggests that the government must consider the rationalisation of teachers in order to ensure availability of the required number of teachers in all schools.
Centre has suggested the redistribution of teachers. Also, Karnataka government had identified 6,836 surplus teachers in 2018-19 and redeployed them.
