Bengaluru: The High Court here has sought the response of the State government on a plea seeking action against BY Vijayendra, the son of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, for violating lockdown norms.
Vijayendra and his wife visited the Srikanteshwara temple in Nanjangud and Mahadeva Taata Gaddige in Hullahalli on May 18 during the lockdown to offer prayers after Yediyurappa recovered from COVID-19.
The High Court passed the order for the government’s response based on the memorandum filed by advocate GR Mohan that also contained photographs of Vijayendra and his wife visiting the temples.
Since the lockdown was imposed in the State, only priests are allowed to perform daily rituals in the temple with the entry of all devotees prohibited.
