K’taka HC finds loopholes in BBMP’s claims of filling potholes 99%

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court had set up a panel to look into the potholes filling work at some places in the city pointed out lapses and shortcomings in the work.
The commission, comprising Dinesh Agrawal, Superintending Engineer, CWE (Army), Military Engineering Services, Bengaluru, and Uma M.G, a district judge and Member-Secretary, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), submitted its preliminary report after inspecting 22 locations in ward number 1 and 15 locations of ward number 2 under Yelahanka zone.
The BBMP had earlier said that it has completed filling potholes across the city.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice S.G. Pandit adjourned hearing on a PIL related to the poor conditions of roads till September 27 to enable the commission to inspect certain wards in Mahalakshmi Layout and in Malleswaram.
