K’taka HC revokes bail to rape accused lecturer

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Friday revoked the bail of a lecturer, accused of raping a girl and taking nude pictures of her.

After a local court. granted bail to the accused, the victim’s parents approached the high court challenging the bail orders.

The incident had taken place in the limits of Subramanya police station in 2018. The parents of the girl had lodged a complaint in this regard in 2021.

The lecturer was accused of raping the girl and later taking nude pictures of the victim.

The police, after lodging the FIR, took the accused lecturer into custody and sent him to judicial custody. Two days later, Dakshina Kannada District and Sessions Court granted bail to him. The parents have submitted a petition in this regard challenging the order.
