Belagavi: As a counter to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s statement of ‘invading’ Karnataka like China, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has given a befitting response,
Addressing the media on Thursday, December 22, at Suvarna Soudha, Bommai lambasted Raut and said, “His statement is politically motivated. It is easier said than done. There is always a relationship between two states. If he thinks he can invade like China, then the Kannadigas will back them off like an army.”
“The Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute case is already pending before the Supreme Court. If he wishes to fight, let him fight us legally in court. We are confident that our arguments before the Apex Court are bound by the constitution.”
Earlier, on Wednesday, speaking on the border row with reporters in Delhi, Raut had said, “The way China has invaded (Indian Territory) we will do the same in Karnataka. We do not need anyone’s permission to do so.”
