K’taka sets up disease surveillance team to fight Covid-19

Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has set up a Disease Surveillance Team to tackle Covid-19. Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar on Wednesday, May 27 revised the list of officials under the Karnataka Disaster Management Authority.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Managing Director Ajay Seth will head the surveillance team and Commissioner (Health and Family Welfare), Pankaj Kumar Pandey will be the nodal officer.

Several other members have also been appointed to check the spread of Covid-19

Vijay Bhaskar, Chief secretary, TM said that the team’s tasks will be to identify problems, help the government in taking containing measures and tackle situations created by the pandemic.
