Kolar: Reacting to a month-old statement made by Congress leader KH Muniyappa, Karnataka Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar on Thursday said that he has a wife and he doesn’t sleep with men.
Earlier, on February 15, Muniyappa while inaugurating Kanaka Community Hall in Srinivaspur Taluk had said, “Ramesh Kumar and I are like husband and wife and we don’t have any issue (over LS tickets) and quarrelling is common to us.”
When quizzed about the comment made by the senior Congress leader about their relationship, Kumar said, “I don’t sleep with men. I have a wife and we are married for decades now. So, he (Muniyappa) may be interested to sleep with me, but I am not. I don’t have an extramarital affair with whomsoever.”
According to sources, Muniyappa made the comment after Kumar expressed dissent over the former getting a Lok Sabha ticket from Kolar.
The LS polls in Karnataka will be held in two phases on April 18 and April 23 with 14 constituencies going to the polls in each phase. Counting of votes will be done on May 23.
