K’taka sports awards announced: Karun Nair, Ashwal Rai get Ekalavya Award; Gopal Naik gets Kreeda Ratna

Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports Dr. Narayana Gowda, on Monday, released the list of Ekalavya, Karnataka Kreeda Ratna, Lifetime Achievement, Sports Sponsor awardees for the year 2020-21.
Addressing the media persons at Vikasa Soudha, the minister said that 15 sportspersons will be honored with Ekalavya Award, 14 with the Karnataka Kreeda Ratna award, 10 organizations with the Sports Sponsor award, and 2 with lifetime achievement.
The awardees were chosen by the expert committee formed for the purpose, the minister said. The award ceremony will be held soon after a discussion with the chief minister, he added.
