K’taka terror alert: 8 persons posing as NIA official arrested from Pumpwell

Mangaluru: In the wake of the terror attack that has been speculated in various cities of Karnataka the city police on Friday, August 16 night arrested eight people from a building near Pumpwell for suspicious activity and also seized their car while searching lodges and other prime spots.
The arrested were posing as officials of National Investigation Agency and are set to be from Madikeri, Mangaluru and Kerala. The police also confiscated the car which had Government of India stickers.
Earlier in the day, the city police had carried search operations at various prime locations of the city in the wake of intelligence inputs of a suspected terror attack.
Security arrangements across major towns and cities in Karnataka, including Mangaluru, have been beefed up after a high alert was sounded on Friday, August 16.
