75 lakh houses to hoist tricolour in Karnataka: MLC N Ravikumar

Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP General Secretary and MLC N Ravikumar said that the tricolour will be hoisted on 75 lakh houses from August 13 to 15, marking “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” (75th year of Indian Independence).
Addressing the media on Wednesday he said, “Out of 224 Karnataka Assembly constituencies, in each constituency, there are atleast 35,000 houses. So, on approximately 75 lakh houses the tricolour would be hoisted. As per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wish, we are all set to celebrate the 75th Independence Day in a grand manner”.
“On August 4, 5, and 6, all the leaders of the party in over 58, 000 booths will decide on the successful execution of the programme. Training on how to hoist the tricolour will be given”, he added.
Speaking about the programmes, Ravikumar said, “In 75 taluks we will carry out ‘Tricolour Yatra’. Around 75 Raitha Morchas will also be holding ‘Tricolour Yatra’ with decorated bullock carts. The BJP Yuva Morcha cycle and bike rally will be held in 175 locations. The BJP Mahila Morcha will hold processions in 175 locations with tricolour and posters of Kittur Rani Chennamma, Onake Obavva and Rani Abbakka. We will be paying a visit to the houses of the freedom fighters and meet their family members”.
“Marking the event as the Swadeshi Movement, people involved in the programme will be wearing cotton and khadi clothes. Under the initiative ‘Amrita Bharatige Kannadadaarti’, around 75 books on freedom struggle will be handed over to educational institutions and common people”, he added.
Meanwhile, he said that the state government has requested all the organizations to co-operate and help in the success of the programme.
