Kulshekar landslide: Trains fail to move

Mangaluru: As the work of clearance of mud and debris which have got deposited on the railway tracks near Kulshekhar on account of landslide was not completed as per the plan, the trains did not move on this stretch as per the schedule on Monday.
Earlier the railway had announced that Kochuveli – Porbandar and Ernakulam – Ajmer trains would run on these tracks on Monday, but on account of the fresh landslide on Monday, these trains were diverted to alternative routes. Meanwhile Thiruvananthapuram – Veraval weekly express train moved via Shoranur and Jolarpettai stations on Monday.
As per the railway release, the movement of intercity Magaluru – Margao and passenger trains were cancelled on Tuesday too. The Demu train from Margao train will cut short its run at Suratkal station instead of the city station and return from there.
The Mangaluru Central – Kurla Matsyagandha Express and Mangaluru Junction – CST express trains will also return from Suratkal, sated the railway release
