Bengaluru: Chief Minister designate H.D. Kumaraswamy will take his oath at the grand flight of steps in front of the Vidhana Soudha instead of the Kanteerava Stadium. The coalition leaders think that it will be appropriate to conduct the swearing-in ceremony in front of the building since a non-BJP coalition coming to power in the State held national significance. Also, a large number of Opposition leaders throughout the country are expected to attend the ceremony. Top bureaucrats like Chief Secretary Ratna Prabha and DG & IGP Neelamani Raju have met Kumaraswamy to discuss the arrangements of the ceremony.
Kumaraswamy also seems confident of winning the trust vote to prove majority on the floor of the House. He told press persons that he would seek vote of confidence within a day of taking oath. He said that his party did not keep his legislators in captivity and were just trying to keep them together due to threats of poaching.
