Team Udayavani, Jun 17, 2024, 10:38 AM IST
An attempted cattle theft at the Kamalashile Temple’s cowshed in the late hours of Saturday was foiled thanks to timely intervention by the CCTV surveillance team.
At approximately 2:46 AM, two individuals broke the front lock of the cowshed and cut the ropes of three cows with a knife, attempting to steal them. The temple had installed live monitoring CCTV cameras through Sign In Securities, which keeps a round-the-clock watch. This surveillance team immediately alerts the police department about any suspicious activities or movements.
Upon noticing the suspicious activity, the staff at the monitoring center in Ankudakatte, Kundapur, promptly informed the beat police, the SI, and the temple’s security division. The security team rushed to the cowshed, causing the suspects to flee the scene.
One cow that had been untethered was found nearby, while the rest remained safe within the shed. SI and Kundapur DySP visited the scene and gathered information about the suspects, who had arrived by car. DySP K.U. Belliyappa confirmed that they have received reliable information and are actively working to apprehend the suspects.
