Following the collision, the Bullet rider, Puneet, who had sustained severe injuries, passed away on Sunday night at Manipal Hospital after failing to respond to treatment.

Accident zone concerns
The stretch near Nagu Palace has become a accident-prone zone, with multiple incidents reported in the area. Locals have urged the Kundapur Traffic Police to take necessary action to improve safety measures on this stretch.
Street lighting installation ordered
Many vehicles coming from the highway to the service road, and from areas like Koteshwar and hospitals, have been involved in accidents. Recently, a municipal worker lost their life in a similar accident. Noticing the lack of street lighting in the area, MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi has instructed the highway department’s contractor to install proper lighting on the service road. He has also requested private garage owners in the vicinity to assist in installing additional lights to ensure better visibility at night.
