In the backdrop of videos and photos of rumored child lifters circulating on social media, Deputy Superintendent of police Belliappa clarified that the same were baseless and urged people to contact the police station or dial 112 in case they suspected any person of ulterior motives.
On claims about attempts to abduct children in Koteshwara and Kalavara areas by a gang, the DySP said that the police personnel tracked their vehicle and initiated appropriate measures.
Police probe into a viral video of children being lured with toys revealed that the person in the video was a toy seller and had no intentions of abducting anyone as was being claimed in social media.
