Kundapur: Kundapur taluk hospital and Lalitambika guest house at Kollur will be soon converted into COVID-19 hospital, informed deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.
The decision was taken in view of the rising number of cases in the district.
Speaking with this regard Jagadeesha said, “The decision to convert the taluk hospital into full-fledged COVID-19 hospital was taken as there is a need of 400 beds in the taluk. However, 120 beds are already arranged in taluk hospital and 60 beds in Adarsh hospital.”
He further added, “The taluk hospital here will be shifted to Kota hospital along with pregnant women and those who have just delivered their babies. The outpatient department will be shifted to Old Vinay hospital.”
“Lalitambika guest house at Kollur will be converted to a COVID-19 hospital with over 100 beds. Positive cases without symptoms will be treated at Kundapur and Kollur itself while those with severe symptoms including pregnant women will be treated at TMA Pai hospital,” informed Jagadeesha.
