Kundapur: A three-year-old male leopard was trapped in a cage, laid by forest department officials, at Guddattu in Kundapur on Friday night.
The team of forest officials led by Shankaranarayana Range Forest Officer Chidanandappa had been attempting to capture the leopard for the past one week. As the leopard was sighted prowling in Yadadi-Mathyadi the officials laid a trap, using a dog as bait to capture the leopard.
Following a thorough health check-up, the officials released the leopard into a reserve forest area.
