Kundapur: Leopard ensnared

Tekkatte: A leopard was caught in a trap set for it by the Forest Department officials at Heskatturu within Korgi GP limits in Kundapur taluk on April 5th.

Three days ago, the leopard had attacked a calf tied within the cow shed at the house owned by Nuji Shanker Shetty who is the post master here.

In this backdrop, Kundapur forest department officials set up a trap for the leopard within the vicinity of the house and were eventually successfully in catching the leopard. DFO Prabhakaran, ACF Lohit, Zonal Forest Officer Prabhakar Kulal, Deputy Zonal Forest officer Udaya, forest Forest conservators Manju, Shanker, Udaya, Forest Inspector Somashekhar, Venkatesh and driver Asok took part in the operation.
