Kundapur: A lorry laden with heavy stones overturned over a bridge at Thekatte Taluk here on Monday morning.
The accident occurred at a bridge in Heskuthur near Shiriyara. The lorry was moving from Shiriyara on the bridge that connects Shiriyara with Hekuthur.
It is gathered that the driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
Locals alleged that rash and high-speed driving on the narrow bridge led to the accident. The bridge was also damaged in the incident.
A case has been registered in the Kandlur rural police station.
