Kundapur: Man burnt alive as house catches fire

Kundapur: A 45-year-old man was burnt alive when his house at Gangolli caught fire on Sunday, April 3.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Kharvi, a resident of Doddahithlu of Gangolli village.

It is said that  Ganesh and his wife Yashoda were building a new house and currently were living in a small house nearby.

The incident occurred when Yashoda had gone out for work. Ganesh who works in a fishing boat had returned home in the morning and was sleeping at his house.  Around 8.30 am, fire erupted at the house and Ganesh was burnt alive.

Locals then managed to extinguish the fire and informed the police officials. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be known.

A case has been registered.
