Kundapur: A 35-year-old man has been booked under POSCO Act for attempting to rape a minor girl here on Monday June 1 morning. The incident took place on Chikkansal Road here.
The accused identified as Biswas, a native of West Bengal was caught red-handed and was thrashed by the locals before being handed over to the police.
It is gathered that Biswas was acquainted with the girl’s father. Upon coming to know that the girl was alone at home, Biswas sneaked into the house through the tiled roof and attempted to rape the minor.
The girl however raised an alarm and locals rushed to her rescue.
