Kundapur: Man kills wife before ending his life

Kundapur: In a shocking incident, a man reportedly killed his wife and later took his own life. The heartwrenching crime came to light in Kundapur Rural Police Station limits, here on Monday, August 22.

The deceased have been identified as Poornima Acharya (38), resident of Soraba, and her husband Ravi Acharya (42) resident of Kogar.

Poornima had married Ravi about 16 years ago and they have two children from the marriage. It is said that Ravi, a tipper driver by profession was an alcoholic. The couple reportedly fought on a daily basis. Due to this, Poornima along with her children reportedly stayed in her mother’s house at Soraba.

On Sunday, Poornima attended a baby shower event at Devalkunda village of Kundapur taluk. In the evening, Ravi who was inebriated picked a fight with Poornima, and allegedly beat her to death. He reportedly took his own life by consuming poison.

Meanwhile, the police have reached the spot and are investigating the crime scene.
