Kundapur: Rs 3 lakhs worth gold ornaments stolen from exhibition

Kundapur: Police have registered a case of theft against three persons, including two women who allegedly stole gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakhs during a exhibition-cum-sale organized by Mangaluru-based Orra Fine Jewellery Pvt Ltd at UVA Meridian Hall at Koteshwar near here
The manager of Orra Fine Jewellery approached the police to file a complaint after the theft came to light at the end of the 3-day gold and diamond ornaments exhibition-cum-sale held from November 27 to 29.
As per the complaint, gold bangles weighing 43 grammes was found to be missing when the firm did a stock check of the ornaments at the end of the exhibition. Upon checking the CCTV footage it was found that on November 29 three persons had visited the store and on the pretext of seeing the ornaments for purchase they stole the golden bangles.
The persons were wearing masks making their identification difficult.
