A few months ago, a daring attempt to steal gold from a jewellery shop situated at the Shanubhogue complex near NH 66 in Thekkatte was thwarted by the timely intervention of the Kota police. After an extensive investigation based on CCTV footage, three individuals were apprehended three months later under the directives of SP Dr. Arun K.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Arshit Avinash Dodre, alias Mohammed Arshad (23), hailing from Nanthoor; Rizwan (24), a resident of Byndoor Paduvari; and Mohammed Arbaaz (23), residing in Paduvari, Byndoor.
The incident, which occurred on December 21, 2023, saw intruders attempting to break into various establishments within the Samruddi complex near Thekkatte Canara Bank. Despite their efforts to forcibly open the shutters of the Meenakshi Furniture showroom, godown, and a tailor shop, they were unsuccessful in their endeavors.
Later, on December 29, 2023, two masked individuals armed with weapons made a brazen attempt to breach the lock of a jewellery shop located in the Shanubhogue complex, along with neighboring shops. Although CCTV cameras captured the attempted robbery, the shop owner chose not to file a complaint with the authorities.
It was discovered that the same culprits also targeted a restaurant and bakery in Hallady, a medical shop in Moorukai, and a hotel in Saibrakatte. Subsequent investigations led to a spot inspection conducted on April 4.
The operation, led by PSI Sudha Prabhu, ASI Ravi Kumar, and officers Prasanna Maladi, Vijendra, Raghavendra, Ganesh, and Revathi from the Kota police station, highlights the diligent efforts of law enforcement in apprehending the suspects and maintaining public safety.
