Kundapura: 1 man drowns, another rescued at Kodi beach

Kundapura: In a tragic incident, one of the two labourers who had gone for a swim in the Kodi beach drowned and the other rescued by locals.

Manju (38) from Nalagunda taluk in Belgaum district has been identified as a deceased.

Manju and his friend went for a swim in the sea. A while later high sea waves swept both of them away.

Locals Hassainar, Zain, Nagaraj Kodi, Venkatesh Kodi and Salam jumped into the sea and rescued the two. However, Manju had died before the rescue.

The dead body has been kept in the morgue of Kundapur taluk hospital.

It was reported that both of them resided near Kundapura’s Gandhi Maidan.
