Kundapura: The town council here will be the first in the state to allow digital payments of building tax and water bill and issuing of business licenses through an official app.
Presently, people have to visit the council office for all transactions related to local taxes and licences.
The local body is awaiting government and RBI approval after which the go-ahead for the app’s development will be given.
Additionally, plans are also afoot to introduce digital transaction systems in gram panchayats too. A decision regarding this will be taken by the Zilla Panchayat.
