Kundapura: Illegal gambling clubs busted

Kundapura: Fifty persons were arrested and Rs 2.5 lakh were seized by the police in raids on illegal gambling dens across Kundapura taluka.

The Kundapura police, after receiving credible tip-off led raiding teams to various clubs in Basrur, Koteshwara, Goliyangadi and Siddapura which were hosting illegal gambling.

These clubs were licensed for recreation only but were indulging in gambling.

The police also seized vehicles and mobile phones during the raid.

Police personnel from Kundapura, Kundapura Rural, Shankaranarayana, Amasebail, Byndoor and Kollur participated in the raids.
