Kundapura: Scheme rejuvenates cultivable land

Kundapura: B C Trust’s Agriculture Department’s scheme has helped many farmers in the district to mechanize crop cultivation of their fields.

With many farmers facing problems in cultivation – high expenditure, less income and lower prices for their produce – mechanisation has come as a boon.

Satyanarayana Hebbar, a farmer in Bijadi near Koteshwara had left his 1-acre field idle for the past 5 years. With help from the Trust, he has now put up a paddy field there with equipments.

Presently unemployed people have returned to the district due to COVID-19 crisis across the country. Mechanisation will help them have quick cultivation and lack of farm labourers.
