Kundapura: Shops to be open till 2 pm from July 13 to 31

Kundapur: Due to daily spike in the number of COVID-19 cases all shops except medicals, dairy and hotel will be open till 2 pm within the town limits.

This decision was stated by a local businessman Radhakrishna at a news conference at Hotel Sharon here.

He stated that more than 150 shopowners have agreed to the self-organised half-lockdown.

A consensus decision has been made by all traders. It is our responsibility to support the government and the district administration to control the spread of corona, another businessman Sridhar said.

All vegetable shops, fruit shops, electrical showroom, clothing shops, bakery, juice parlour, salon, beauty parlours and jewellery shops will be open till 2 pm till the end of July.

Jewellery Association president Satish Shet, businessman Vijaya Kumar Shetty, Hussain Haikadi, Abu Mohammed, Tabriz, Santosh, Satish Hegde, Jaswant Singh, Surendra Shet and others were present in the conference.
