Kundapura: Raghavendra Poojary, a newspaper delivery man at Tekkatte averted a big disaster on Saturday morning.
A snapped power cable had fallen in front of the house near National Highway 66.
Poojary was on his duty early in the morning when he noticed something hanging by the tree in front of the house.
He flashed his electric torchlight towards it and realised that it is a live power cable that had snapped due to the gusty winds and rains.
He immediately alerted the house’s residents by flashing his torchlight towards the house.
The owner of the house, TR Prabhu, called MESCOM and informed them of the snapped cable who then cut off the power supply to the area.
