Kundapura: Woman killed after falling from 5th floor of apartment building

Kundapura: A woman died after falling from the terrace of an apartment building here on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi (41), the wife of auditor Pratap Nayak. The couple lived in the 5th-floor apartment in the building with their two children.

According to sources, the incident took place when Lakshmi had been to the terrace of the 5th-floor apartment to fetch coconuts. She reportedly stepped on the fiber sheet, which broke into pieces leading to her fall.

The victim fell to the second floor and got stuck in the life vent. Apartment officials, police, and rescuers had to cut the iron rods at the life to reach her.

She was rushed to Kundapur Government Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Lakshmi is survived by her husband and two sons. A case has been registered.
