Kunigal: Two killed, 8 injured in horrific crash on NH75

Kunigal: In a ghastly accident, a car jumped the divider and hit an oncoming Tempo Traveller, killing two persons on the spot and injuring 8 others at Herur Bypass here on the National Highway 75 on Saturday morning.

One of the deceased has been identified as Sunil (30) of Hole Narsipur taluk of Hassan who was driving the ill-fated Innova car. The identity of the other deceased was not immediately known.

The Innova car was on its way from Bengaluru to Hassan when the mishap took place. The man behind its wheel lost control, hit the divider and jumped onto the other side of the road, and crashed into the tempo Traveller, which was ferrying a wedding party to Bengaluru from Nagamangala, sources said.

The injured have been rushed to Adichunchanagiri Hospital. The car was completely wrecked in the accident.
