Kutrupadi: Mysterious death of an elderly man

Party on the banks of Kumaradhara River
Kadaba: A team of youth had partied by consuming alcohol on the banks of Kumaradhara River at Ulippu in Kutrupadi village on the night of Mar 15th and a member of the team a found dead under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased is identified as Kuriyan (60) a resident of Ulippu. His corpse was found in the river. His wife Annamma has expressed suspicion regarding his death and filed a complaint with Kadaba police, who have registered a case under suspicious death.
It is being said that on the evening of March 15th, Kurian was with local youths identified as Anil Varghese, Britto, Sandesh, Sajan and Sandeep who were partying and consuming alcohol.
Kurian’s wife knew of the fact that he was attending the party. Since it was late night and as Kurian had failed to return from the party, his wife Annamma tried to call all the five youth who were at the party. On this occasion, all the five assured that Kurian had left the party much before them. Terrified, when Annamma and few others went in search of Kurian, they found his corpse in the river.
The police have arrested the five youth in connection to the case and interrogating them. The corpse was sent to Kadaba government hospital for post mortem and later transferred to Mangaluru for additional tests.
