Lance Havildar Anoop Poojary laid to rest with state honors

Kundapura: The mortal remains of Lance Havildar Anoop Poojary from Beejadi, Kundapura, who tragically lost his life in an accident in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir, on Tuesday, December 25, were brought to his hometown on Thursday, December 26. The grieving family, including his mother and wife, paid their final respects during the somber procession.
The remains were first flown to Bajpe’s Mangaluru International Airport late on Wednesday night, December 25.
Procession Through Hometown
On the morning of December 26, at 9 AM, the mortal remains were carried in an open vehicle, starting from Tekkatte and passing through Koteshwara before reaching Anoop’s native village of Beejadi.
A large crowd of over 4,000 villagers gathered in Koteshwara, Beejadi, and Gopadi to pay their last respects to the fallen soldier.
Public Viewing and Final Rites
After reaching his residence in Beejadi, rituals were performed in the presence of family members. The body was then taken to the premises of Beejadi Padu School for the public to offer their tributes.
Subsequently, the final rites were conducted with state honors at the government-designated burial ground near the Beejadi coastline.
