Mangaluru: MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary’s allegations regarding land allotment to JSW Steel in Ballari at a cheap price has been rubbished by District in-charge minister U T Khader speaking to media on Tuesday June 4.

“MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary lacks information about the deal and the allegation he made is false. It is better to gather information before commenting on the issue. In 2005, the then cabinet finalized a deal of lease cum sale and the price was fixed at Rs 90,000 per acre and the process was continued. We have not sold the land for a less price and gone according to the industrial policy,” explained Mr Khader.

New policy for mobile towers

“A new policy has been introduced for the installation of frequency towers. Earlier there was no proper policy for the mobile towers. For the installation of new towers, the company should register in the local body by paying a fee. As per policy, towers should not be installed close to religious centres, schools and hospitals. The existing towers close to religious centres, schools and hospitals are given three months time, before that they need to rectify or else its license will be cancelled,” informed the minister

Building plan and layout gets new software

New software will be launched by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on June 11 for the approval of building plan and other matters of land and layout, revealed Khader and added that the new system will give no scope for brokers and will be easier, faster and more convenient to the people.

Thokkottu flyover and underpass

“A meeting will be held with MP Nalin Kumar, deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil to come up with a solution for the problems faced by people near Thokkottu flyover. The unscientific flyover has become a cause for accidents. Also, issues regarding Ujjodi underpass which is of no use will be discussed,” informed the minister.
