Land Slide Stalls Vehicle Traffic on Charmadi Ghat; No Casualties

Chikkamagaluru: Landslide on Charmadi Ghat road stalled vehicular traffic for a few hours during evening hours of October 15. Heavy rainfall activities in Ghat area reportedly caused for the landslide at around 06.00 PM, sources said.

Fortunately, no casualties, loss of property have been reported in the landslide even if the road was busy with vehicles when the incident occurred. A police team from Banakal station took necessary measures to clear the jam.

According to the sources, trucks loaded with sand have been damaging Charmadi Ghat for a long time. The locals have urged the concerned authorities to take action on the trucks which also indirectly cause for land slide in Ghat area.
