Landslide at Shiradi Ghat; vehicular movements stranded

Puttur: The newly reopened Shiradi Ghat has once again stopped vehicular movement after landslides took place at at Doddatoppe near Maranahalli.
Traffic snarl was experienced as over 300 vehicles including buses, trucks and cars got stranded on the ghat since Monday evening.
It has been reported that, a huge hill collapsed at Doddatoppe near Maranahalli on the ghat on Monday evening. There were several landslides that took place on this hill till late evening. The mud that poured on the road due to the landslide was cleared late into the night.
Over three landslides occured on Tuesday here near Gundya which led to another jam in this region.
Ocean Construction Company personnel reached the spot and cleared the debris.
However, the vehicles stuck here are in need of help and people are finding it difficult to communicate due to bad network here.
