Bajpe: The news of wall and land slide at Mangaluru International Airport has been negated by the director’s office at the airport.
Clarifying through a media release, the office stated, “For the past two days rumours are making rounds of the wall and land slide at airport. Along with this fake news, some are engaged in posting exaggerated video and pictures of land slide that occurred last year. No land slide or wall collapse has taken place this year. The airport is in perfect operational state and all functions are normal.”
“It is learnt that from the past few days some land slide pictures of Mangaluru Airport are circulating in social media with panic creating descriptions. At the same time, many, especially the Indians residing overseas have demanded official clarification on the matter,” stated the media release.
“Some people, only with the intention of defaming the Mangaluru International Airport are spreading false news. Strict action should be taken against these people,” said a few frequent flyers for the airport who assured that there is nothing untoward in the airport and it is functioning normal.
