Sakleshpur: A massive landslide occurred on the railway track near Ballupete in Sakleshpur Taluk, causing soil and trees to fall onto the tracks between kilometer markers 42 and 43. This incident has disrupted train services on the Hassan-Mangaluru route.

The landslide took place around midnight on Friday, August 9, leading to the suspension of train operations between Hassan and Mangaluru.

Six trains, including those at Sakleshpur, Yedakumeri, Shiribagilu, and Alur, have come to a halt due to the sudden disruption. Thousands of passengers are stranded, and alternative transportation arrangements are being made. The process of clearing the debris from the tracks has already begun.
