A landslide has occurred in Shiradi Ghat, causing the road to be blocked once again just minutes after it had been cleared.
On the afternoon of Thursday, August 1, a massive landslide took place near Doddatappalu in Shiradi Ghat, with soil and debris sliding down noisily.
Over the past three days, there have been repeated landslides, increasing concerns in the Shiradi Ghat area. Travelers heading towards Shiradi Ghat are advised to exercise caution.
On Wednesday evening, July 31, a landslide on National Highway 75 in Shiradi Ghat buried two containers and a tanker, leading to the temporary suspension of vehicle traffic on this route.
Since Tuesday evening, July 30, vehicle traffic had been halted. Continuous efforts eventually allowed one-way traffic to resume on Wednesday morning for the vehicles lined up on the road.
The one-way traffic operation continued until 5:30 PM on Wednesday evening. However, another landslide caused two containers and a tanker to get trapped under the soil. The drivers were rescued by the police and road construction staff.
This series of landslides has heightened the need for caution and preparedness for those traveling through Shiradi Ghat.
