Mangaluru: Charmadi Ghat road experienced four more land slips on Wednesday.

The forest department and the PWD are working on clearing the debris on this stretch.

If the rainfall continues, the road would become unavailable for several days.

However the officials claim that the maintenance work would be completed by today evening.

Vehicles have been diverted to other routes to prevent any mishaps.

National highways authority’s Mangaluru division official, Subba Rao, taluk executive officer, Basavaraj Ayyannavar, PWD executive engineer, Shivaprasad Ajila, and other officials visited the spot to take stock of the situation. Puttur assistant commissioner, Krishnamurthy, said that a final decision will be taken after reviewing the situation on Thursday.
